Hales Corners is a small village next to Whitnall Park and Boerner Botanical Gardens, with ranch homes on deeper lots than you’ll find closer to the city. Those big backyards, often with mature trees and big gardens, are what most of our fencing work here is about.
Fencing Bigger Backyards
- Privacy for the whole yard. On a deep lot, a privacy fence along the back and sides makes a long run. We keep the posts straight and evenly spaced from end to end.
- Dog runs. Not every dog needs the whole yard. A fenced run in black chain link or cedar keeps the rest of the yard intact.
- Gardens. Near Whitnall Park, deer and rabbits are regular visitors. We fence vegetable gardens and landscaping at a height that works.
- Mature trees. We plan post locations around big roots instead of cutting them.
Cedar Fences
Cedar privacy and picket fences suit the village’s ranch homes, and a horizontal cedar design is a good way to update an older yard.

Hales Corners Fence FAQs
Can you build a fenced dog run instead of fencing the whole yard?
Yes, in chain link, cedar or vinyl, with a gate where you need it.
Will a fence keep deer out of my garden?
Yes, if it’s tall enough. We’ll recommend the right height and style.
